Perfectly quaint cottage feel condo!
Where do I start? This is a one bedroom with open floor plan. Anywhere you stand in the kitchen, living room or balcony you have beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico! They’ve used to carry on from the bedroom with a wall of windows!
Everything was immaculately clean, in its place and the feeling of home stayed with you the second you open the door. Everything was tastefully decorated and the bed was so comfortable!
All new appliances in the kitchen as a matter of fact, in order to use the microwave and the refrigerator I had to remove the packaging plastic. Although the oven appeared brand new, the door did not open all the way. I called the office and they scheduled someone to come out and repair. Office staff was extremely polite, caring, courteous, and friendly! To receive this type response from them during the heat of the summer months, it was refreshing!
Grateful there was a broom and dust pan to maintain the cleanliness during my stay! Loved the fact that they had a shower to rinse the sand off before walking up the steps to the condo, great conveniences! In the bedroom, I encountered bruises on my legs, because the perimeter of the footboard on the bed was too close to the dresser. They did extend the very thick and luscious comforter beyond the foot board which does help but it did not eliminate the problem. Will it prevent me from returning, absolutely not. I just may need to invest in kneepads for my next visit�� love the beach cottage furniture, excellent taste!!!!

37th Anniversary Trip

Unbeatable view, secure location, dated and neglected unit
Great beach view and access, parking, secure location, it had been cleaned well and didn’t smell and SPC property was nice overall. No washer/dryer and no towel exchange option added extra unexpected cost/work to the trip. Maintenance was surprisingly terrible, we’d choose a different unit in the future. Walking in, a kitchen cabinet door was laying on the counter. Lamps were broken and missing shades, bulbs burned out, entire seat of the ONE tall deck chair that can see over the rail was torn out, part of the glass in bedroom is broken and the hole is big enough to fit a kids hand through. Wifi never worked and multiple outlets sparked when anything was plugged in. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, visibly sagging. The wood platform of the outside stairs is so soft we went up one at a time, afraid we’d fall through, as some of the lower wood of the stairs has already completely deteriorated and someone has obviously stepped through it. Overall the location and cleanliness made it an ok stay, but I’m disappointed we paid what we did so stay somewhere that needed so much work. Dated decor/furniture doesn’t even matter to us - but usable/safe was expected. We weren’t offered any other chair option, discount, etc., they didn’t care. - Amanda S., Knoxville, TN

Needing some TLC
Great location view is amazing. Condo needs alot of maintenance done. Need alot of TLC. The sliding doors One side would not open the other side was hard to open and screen kept falling off. There was no washer and dryer. It was my fault never notice but that is standard in condos. The electrical socket next to bed did not work. Light in living area had no bulb. Upon arrival: toilet did not flush properly; dishwasher did not work; patio furniture are three cheap mismatched plastic chairs- the one which actually looked over patio rim was old and broken- seat was torn and just left there. 30th anniversary trip

SCC is great, but not necessarily this unit
When I booked I knew I was "compensating" by renting this unit for the view & trying to overlook some of the "issues" previously mentioned in reviews. However, I was not prepared for the voltage in an outlet by the bed to not be strong enough for an iphone, or for it to melt part of our Apple plug, & burn my husbands fingers when he removed the plug from the wall! The bedroom window is cracked. My hairdryer would only work in the bathroom, so even though there's a room between the bedroom & bathroom that you can use to get ready, I couldn't use it to its potential - again, due to the outlets not having enough voltage. These are just a couple of comments, in addition to the other items that people have already commented on. The unit was clean, but the tub/toilet/walls/shower curtain and rod are stained or scratched & look dirty (rusty rod). Again, we knew some of the issues going into it, but for what we paid for the unit, some of these issues should really be addressed. I feel bad posting this review, but I feel that it’s only fair to be prepared when renting the unit. My friends did not have a view, but they paid $1,000 less for a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit that was completely remodeled in the last 6 months. I’m not saying not to rent the unit, but I feel that the owners of the unit need to either discount it, or take the money we’re paying & put it into some upgrades. Perfect Beach Getaway
The condo was exactly as described, with a straight ahead, clear view of the beach from both the master bedroom and the balcony. The bedding was white, crisp and clean, as were the bathroom linens. The kitchen had sufficient dishes and cookware. Most of my time was spent outside, but the furniture in the living room was comfortable and clean. The master toilet flushes slowly, but if you hold it down it is fine. The management staff was professional and the guard at the gate helpful. The location of the condo was perfect for walking to the grocery store or local restaurants. Great View, Could Use an Update
We love Sandpiper and have visited many times. The condo had a great view but could really use some updating! The living room furniture was not comfortable, a lamp shade was missing, outlets didn’t work, and other minor repairs needed to be made. There was also minimal outdoor furniture on the deck. There was a broken tall chair, a table, and two white plastic chairs. When you sat in the chairs you couldn’t see the view (which was paid extra for). Bed was soft but comfortable. We have stayed at Sandpiper Cove in various units for several years. This particular unit had a great view of the beach, which is why I booked it. There were no obvious negatives upon arrival, but though out our stay, we noticed a few things that were less than expected. The sofa bed was broken and would not open, so my sons slept on the floor. There was no washer/dryer. I'm not sure if it was mentioned in this unit or not, but all of the other units that we've stayed in had them, so I just expected this one would. My fault for not verifying that. There was food (pizza) in the chair cushions. The blender was cracked. We didn't use much in the kitchen so I'm not sure about the other equipment. The office staff was very professional and offered to send cleaning service back, but we were going to be at the beach and didn't them entering the unit in our absence, so we declined. - Eldridge S., Covington, LA

Pick this one!!!!
This condo was perfect for me and my family. Its upstairs, which gave me a great leg work out daily, it has a GORGEOUS view, and it had everything me and my fam needed to stay 4 nights and 5 days. The bed was super comfy too which is a big deal for me. Our last night we left out windows open in the bedroom and slept with the waves crashing in the background. It was heaven. This one is not fancy and "up-to-date" but its not a fossil either. It's actually very comfortable and reminded me of when i was a child. it felt like HOME. I have already decided to book this same condo for next summer. Me and my family loved it. Another great thing was the staff. I made payments over the phone for months and got to know the staff by name and they were very pleasant and helpful.Our condo was VERY clean and i felt VERY safe with the location. Great Location
Great location, right on the beach, can’t beat the view. You have to keep in mind that the place is close to 40 years old and hasn’t had a makeover in some time. Nothing fancy about the place. Bathroom sink needs a stopper, if u drop anything, it’s fishing time to get it out. Has a new tv in living room, would suggest mounting on wall and hide some of the cables that are exposed by sitting on an end table. We always enjoy staying at Sandpiper Cove. The condo was new to us. It was fine, not great. The sink backed up 10minutes after we were there. There is no washer and dryer. Best view at Sandpiper Cove!
This is our second stay at Sandpiper Cove and we loved the waterfront room. Nice large corner balcony for viewing the Gulf day or night. The kitchen had everything we needed; though it could use a large stock pot. The AC is a bit noisy but kept the condo comfortable. An in room washer and dryer would be nice since there is space for it, but the extra room worked out for hanging our wet beach clothes and towles. My only real complaint is the bed and the sofa sleeper. Don't even bother with the sofa sleeper it is horrible but expected from its age. It surely could be updated. Also the mattress in the bedroom is so fluffy it is uncomfortable. It contributed to back pain for myself and my husband. Very strange, it felt like it had air in the core. Strangest mattress ever. Respite from the winter doldrums
In spite of too many overcast days this year, we were rarely slowed down from having a great month-long stay. The weather was warm, and we had long walks on the beach almost every day. Would have preferred being on the first floor rather than 2nd floor because of the many steps for a couple in our 70s. Family vacation
It’s a great location, close to the beach. We had an issue as a family of four. The pullout bed in the living room needs to be replaced. The patio furniture is also less than ideal. There is no washer and dryer in the unit, which surprised us and was not convenient with beach towels and bathing suits.
